Meet the Staff and Board Members

We have exciting news! Since you all have been following Esther's story for the past year (we couldn't have fought as hard as we did without your prayers, meals, donations, and flexibility!), you have most likely seen and heard about #EsthersMiracle and EsthersMiracle.org. Since Esther charged Jim and myself "to help other kids with ports" (which is what she wanted to do when she grew up), New Heart Christian School is expanding to become Esther's Miracle, Inc. and host a number of special programs - in addition to NHCS.

Esther's Miracle, Inc. plan was adopted by the Board of Directors on 4/15/23. The goals of NHCS remain the same, with a slight change in emphasis on our community service projects to serve "kids with ports" (kids and their families impacted by cancer and other childhood diseases).  NHCS' Facebook page will reflect this update for the rest of the year as Esther's Miracle / New Heart Christian School. We will also have a separate NHCS Group hosted by Esther's Miracle page. There will be individual Groups for each of Esther's Miracle programs (details to come soon).

We're excited to continue partnering with you and your families as God continues to grow this mission. We're blessed beyond measure to partner with you, your children, and both our local and global community to see EVERY child grow up and fulfill the special plans God has for his/her life.

Greetings!!  I’m Julie Desrosiers, from Omaha, Nebraska.  My husband, Jim, and I were married in July 2003, and we have eight wonderful children (4 girls and 4 boys, from 1- to 18-years old).

Our family will watch Husker games every once in a while, but our family team is the Minnesota Vikings since Minnesota is where our family began.  My husband grew up near the Twin Cities, and I graduated from Bethel College with my BA in Music in St. Paul.  We were married in Minnesota and our first child was born in Minnesota, as well.  I love to read, watch movies, and craft with my family, too.

We moved to Omaha in 2005, where I eventually went back to school to finish my teaching credentials.  I earned my BS in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska in 2012, and I have six years of teaching experience in grades K-6 except for 3rd.

The Lord gave me a vision for New Heart Christian School in June 2020, and after years of being indecisive about what focus my master's degree should be, I finally knew I needed to earn my M.Ed in PreK-12 Educational Administration.  This would give me the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the plans God has for me in NHCS.  I finished my last year in private/public education while completing my degree with Grand Canyon University (through their online Christian program located in Phoenix, AZ).

In June 2021, we delivered our eighth baby.  In July 2021, I graduated with my M.Ed.  And in August 2021, New Heart Christian School was opened to the Omaha community.

In the future, I hope to see NHCS expand to include birth through college, as well as a gymnasium (for basketball, gymnastics, etc.), dance studio, art studio, wood workshop, mechanic garage, music theater, auditorium, library, STEAM lab, photography studio, video studio with green room, and more!  The Lord says He can do more than we can think or imagine, so I'm imagining (and praying!) BIG things for NHCS!
