Health Care

We have exciting news! Since you all have been following Esther's story for the past year (we couldn't have fought as hard as we did without your prayers, meals, donations, and flexibility!), you have most likely seen and heard about #EsthersMiracle and EsthersMiracle.org. Since Esther charged Jim and myself "to help other kids with ports" (which is what she wanted to do when she grew up), New Heart Christian School is expanding to become Esther's Miracle, Inc. and host a number of special programs - in addition to NHCS.

Esther's Miracle, Inc. plan was adopted by the Board of Directors on 4/15/23. The goals of NHCS remain the same, with a slight change in emphasis on our community service projects to serve "kids with ports" (kids and their families impacted by cancer and other childhood diseases).  NHCS' Facebook page will reflect this update for the rest of the year as Esther's Miracle / New Heart Christian School. We will also have a separate NHCS Group hosted by Esther's Miracle page. There will be individual Groups for each of Esther's Miracle programs (details to come soon).

We're excited to continue partnering with you and your families as God continues to grow this mission. We're blessed beyond measure to partner with you, your children, and both our local and global community to see EVERY child grow up and fulfill the special plans God has for his/her life.

Health Care

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

(1 Peter 4:7)

Regular and thorough hygiene routines are followed such as hand washing before/after eating, after using the restroom, etc.  Hand sanitizer is available as an option when washing with soap and water is not possible.  Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue is our goal, but an elbow or inside the shirt is acceptable when a tissue is not readily available.  Students who pick their noses will be instructed to use a tissue and wash or sanitize their hands. Staying home if you’re not feeling 100% has always been wise and is what we recommend.  Your child will be sent home if he/she arrives with or develops during the day, but not limited to, one or more of the following symptoms that may prevent him/her from participating in regular school activities: fever (100*F or higher), headache, persistent coughing, sore throat, sneezing, vomiting, and/or diarrhea.  Students must be symptom-free without medication for 24 hours to return to school.

Masks and vaccinations are optional for staff and students.  Vaccination records of any kind are not required to attend NHCS.  New Heart Christian School and its students, families, and staff are not liable for anyone who contracts a contagious illness, such as, but not limited to,  coronavirus (COVID-19), common cold, and/or flu.  Regular cleaning and disinfecting will be done, and sick children and staff will be sent home until symptom-free without medication for 24 hours.  Social distancing will not be enforced - children and adults need to socialize in order to fulfill their God-given need for community (just as God is a community of three - the Holy Trinity).  If a student is symptomatic and waiting to be picked up, the individual student will be kept at a distance from others as much as possible while maintaining supervision of all students.
